Randy's Pond Services suggest a complete pond cleaning every two years (perhaps every year if many trees, bushes, grasses surround your pond). The build up of sediments such as leaves, grass clippings, sticks, fish and nature debris and loose stones/gravel will eventually create a unhealthy pond. Based on a typical small rectangular size pond 4' x 7', the service would take 5-7 hours. Poly containers or small swimming pools are brought onsite to hold some of the existing water pumped out of the dirty pond. If fish, as the water reduces the fish are caught in nets and placed in the containers/swimming pool onsite. The remaining water is pumped out of the pond to a safe yard location to flow away without flooding the premise. Once all water is removed from the pond we remove all sediments and any objects fallen into your pond. The pond is high pressured washed to remove some of the bacteria and algae, but not ALL. The remaining bacteria colonies on the pond surface enhances the ponds ecosystem with the new clean water. The pumps, filters and decorative objects are also washed and cleaned. Pipes and tubing that are seen are checked for leaks. Clean water is hosed from your taps back into the pond. The fish are returned and pumps/filters are turned on.
